Reichenau Island
There are also more churches in idyllic settings – the Minster of St Mary and St Mark with the Schatzkammer (treasury), St George’s Church with its Ottonian murals, and the Church of St Peter and St Paul. The famous artworks of Reichenau include (in the church of St George) the Ottonian murals of miracles of Christ, unique survivals from the 10th century. The Island is also famous for its vegetable fields, vineyards, and views over Lake Constance and the Rhine. It is an ideal place for cycling and walking tours. Other attractions include the cozy restaurants serving traditional local dishes and a varied program of events.
